Welcome to the SUAD Community! 

As you embark on this exciting new chapter of your life, you probably have many questions. The orientation event is your first step towards a smooth transition into university, offering answers to all your queries. Attendance is mandatory for all newly admitted students. This event is designed to ensure a seamless induction for new students and guide them in the right direction. During the orientation, the students will explore academic programmes, learn about campus resources, and have the opportunity to meet faculty, staff, current students, and new classmates from the department. The orientation is your comprehensive source for everything you need to know, including obtaining class schedules for the upcoming semester and all the resources and materials necessary to start your journey at SUAD.

Frequently Asked Questions 

Q1: Why is the orientation event important for students? 

Students will feel more comfortable after learning important information about academics, finance procedures and campus resources. Moreover, meeting with other new students, current student leaders, faculty, and staff will help answer critical questions, make connections, and generally enable students to become more prepared for their time at SUAD. 

Q2: Do I need to register for the orientation event? 

Registration is not required; however, please confirm your attendance by completing the orientation attendance confirmation form. 

Q3: Can I join the event virtually? 

No, all event sessions are in person (on campus). 

Q4: Do I need to bring anything with me to the orientation? 

It is recommended that you bring your laptop so the technical team can assist with activating your SUAD account, if needed. 

Q5: What happens if I can’t attend the event? What should I do? 

Please contact Student Events and Culture Team at csevents@sorbonne.ae or your orientation leader. Please ensure that they are aware of your plan to provide you with the necessary support. 

Q6: What if I am not able to access SUAD WIFI during the orientation event?

Q7: How will I know who is my Orientation Leader? 

Orientation Leaders (OL) are eager to meet you! Your OL(s) will be reaching out to you before the event with personal one-on-one meetings to get to know you! They are your guide to all steps and will continue to be a support for you as you transition into SUAD.
