Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi was established in 2006, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
The university benefits from Sorbonne’s 750+ years of academic excellence and educates students of more than 90 nationalities with 25 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Law and Social Sciences, plus customised continuing and executive education courses.
Bachelor and Master degrees offered by the university are awarded by Sorbonne Université and Université Paris Cité, globally recognized and accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) in the UAE and by the High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES) in France.
The university also offers a variety of scholarships, including the HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan 100% Scholarship for Emirati nationals and children of Emirati mothers in addition to academic excellence scholarships up to 75% and preferential rates.
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi has positioned itself as a significant contributor to research and innovation in the UAE and GCC region. Research at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is carried out within a research institute which houses a team of dedicated researchers driving forward innovative projects. As of 2024, seven research centres have been established to tackle questions of global significance and local relevance:
