Bio
Renaud Debailly is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Sorbonne University. Since January 2025, he has been on delegation at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, where he is affiliated with the SAFIR research center.
His research focuses on the political sociology of science and the sociology of health. He has conducted work on the “right to be forgotten” for cancer survivors, and he is currently involved in a research project (Trageninnov) which examines the implementation of genomic innovations in healthcare. This work explores the processes of prescribing genomic medicine and the transformations they bring to the relationships between patients, healthcare professionals, and institutions. More broadly, he examines the role of non-scientists in scientific activities, with an emphasis on the ways in which their interactions with research institutions contribute to the production of knowledge and the reconfiguration of professional boundaries.
