Dr. Ada Natoli is a molecular ecologist specializing in the conservation genetics of whales and dolphins. An Assistant Professor at Zayed University, UAE, she holds a PhD from Durham University, UK, on the molecular ecology of bottlenose and common dolphins. With 30 years of research experience, she founded and directs the UAE Dolphin Project to study and protect cetaceans in UAE and Gulf waters, and co-founded HuDoNet, a global initiative for Indian Ocean humpback dolphin conservation. Her multidisciplinary work spans citizen science, boat and acoustic surveys, stranding data, genetics, and more. She serves on the IUCN Cetacean Specialist Group, the Society for Marine Mammalogy’s Scientific Advisory Committee, the Jane Goodall Institute Cetacean Committee, and participates in the International Whaling Commission.
