Conference: Sustainable Finance and Green Fintech

Prof. Nathalie Martial-Braz emphasised that finance needed to align with sustainability goals to effectively combat climate change. She highlighted the importance of a new financial model that integrates sustainability and supports the energy transition. While regulators play a vital role in ensuring the credibility of this transition, emerging technologies—particularly Green Fintech—are equally crucial. Green Fintech refers to technological innovations applied to financial processes that promote sustainability, including digital payment solutions, investment platforms, crowdfunding, and risk analysis. Driven by data analysis, these tools can facilitate the shift towards a carbon-neutral economy. However, their effective implementation requires thoughtful regulation and oversight to maximise their impact.
