"In the context of increased globalization, the notion of ""border""—whether geographical, cultural, social, ethnic, or linguistic—takes on multiple and complex meanings. The Arabian Peninsula, with its unique history and demographic and cultural composition, offers numerous illustrations.
The conference ""Crossing the Borders of the Arabian Peninsula,"" organized in Abu Dhabi by CEFREPA, SAFIR (Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi), and the Center for Arab and Oriental Studies (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle), aims to explore the multiple dimensions of these borders from an interdisciplinary perspective: these borders, whether real or imagined, fluid or rigid, are crossed by human flows, knowledge exchanges, power issues, and identity struggles."
