Description
The History Department-Records Management and Archival Science at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Haute École de Gestion-Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG) and the National Library and Archives (NLA), cordially invites researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to the International Conference on Implementation of Large Language Models (LLMs) in the Public Sector: Issues of Ethical Governance and Sustainability, to be held on 9-11 November 2026.
The conference aims to critically examine the implementation of LLMs in public sector records and information management, focusing on ethical governance and sustainability. As governments increasingly adopt generative AI to enhance service delivery and citizen engagement, questions of transparency, accountability, and environmental, economic, and social sustainability have become paramount. The conference explores how LLMs are reshaping records lifecycle management, archival practice, and information governance; assesses sustainability implications; develops ethical frameworks for responsible AI adoption; fosters interdisciplinary dialogue; and builds AI literacy capacity among RIM professionals.
The event is a key output of the departmental research project “Sustainability and LLMs Implementation in the Public Sector: Concepts, Measurements and Piloting Tool.” The NLA will host the final day, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of AI, archives, and cultural memory. Join us in Abu Dhabi to shape the future of responsible AI in the public sector.
