The Student Events and Culture Section at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi offers a diverse and inclusive campus experience, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the United Arab Emirates and the university’s international student body—representing more than 90 nationalities. The section facilitates integration, cultural exchange, and connection to the broader SUAD community.
With an emphasis on life beyond the classroom, the section organises a wide range of events including national and international celebrations, cultural exhibitions, student business showcases, awareness campaigns, and talent-based activities such as art exhibitions, poetry nights, and concerts. Each initiative promotes creativity, intercultural dialogue, and personal development through experiential learning.
Support is provided for student-led events and clubs, encouraging leadership, collaboration, and innovation. Through partnerships with local and international organisations, students are also offered opportunities to participate in civic engagement and volunteer programmes.
Sustainability is another key area, with year-round initiatives promoting environmental awareness and responsibility. Activities include observance of international environmental days, beach clean-ups, mangrove planting, upcycling workshops, and campaigns that encourage sustainable habits.
Volunteerism remains central to the section’s mission. On campus, students gain experience in teamwork and event planning by supporting internal events. Off campus, participation in external volunteering projects strengthens social awareness and fosters community ties through humanitarian efforts and outreach programmes.
Through its programming, the Student Events and Culture Section contributes to the holistic development of students—supporting personal growth, cultural engagement, and a strong sense of belonging throughout their academic journey.
