Definition of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, embraced unanimously by every United Nations Member State in 2015, offers a collective roadmap for fostering peace and prosperity for both humanity and the environment, both presently and in the years to come.
At the heart of this agenda are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which represent a global call to action for all nations, regardless of their stage of development, to engage in collective efforts towards a more sustainable future.
These goals acknowledge the interconnectedness of eradicating poverty and addressing other forms of deprivation alongside endeavours to enhance healthcare and education, diminish inequality, and stimulate economic advancement—all while confronting climate change and striving to safeguard the oceans and forests.
