Description
As in previous editions, this event will celebrate the French language and highlight the French-speaking world, particularly in the Middle East.
Open to French speakers and learners of French aged 13 and above, the Dictée de la Sorbonne will welcome participants in three categories:
- French as a Foreign Language (FLE) category: beginner and intermediate students at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, students from international schools, and Alliance Française learners up to level B1;
- Junior category (under 25): students from French schools, undergraduate students, and Alliance Française learners up to level B2;
- Adult category (25 and above): native French speakers or participants with a French proficiency level of B2 or above.
The dictation will be read aloud by SUAD’s French as a Foreign Language (FLE) Department team and Ms Laurence Lauray, a previous winner of the Dictée de la Sorbonne.
A mobile phone will be essential to participate in this special evening’s dictation. Participants are encouraged to ensure that their phones are sufficiently charged before the event.
