Description

A workshop by Jérémie Cerman, lecturer in history of contemporary art and Deputy Director of the Department of Archaeology and History of Art at Sorbonne University Abstract Group constituted at the end of the 1880’s, and placing it’s artistic production in filiation of the work of Paul Gauguin, the Nabis are among the artists who intended, at the end of XIXth century, to abolish the distinction between major art and minor art. In this context, Paul Ranson, Maurice Denis, Pierre Bonnard or Édouard Vuillard created works in many fiels like furniture, ceramic, textile, wallpaper or stained glass. While those works are mostly experiments, unique pieces or projects, this speech will also focus on few examples, which were concretely executed, and spread. Tuesday 16th, October 2018 From 6.30pm to 8.00pm
