With over 3,500 performances across France and internationally – from San Francisco to Beirut, Nouméa to Tahiti, and now Abu Dhabi – it has become a staple of contemporary French theatre. Through a wildly imaginative and inventive staging, Le Porteur d’Histoire whisks spectators away on a whirlwind journey through intertwined stories, colorful characters, and ever-shifting times and places. The narrative unfolds like a set of Russian nesting dolls, exploring the enduring power of books and storytelling across the ages. Synopsis :On a rainy night in the depths of the Ardennes, Martin Martin buries his father. He has no idea that the discovery of a handwritten notebook will lead him on a dizzying quest across history and continents. Fifteen years later, in the heart of the Algerian desert, a mother and daughter mysteriously disappear, drawn in by the tale of a stranger and the search for a hoard of books marked with a strange chalice – and a colossal treasure accumulated over the centuries by a legendary secret society.
