Abstract:
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Youth COP is an entirely virtual mock negotiation of the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP) organized by Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and open to university students from all over the world.
The goal of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Youth COP is to train the future generation of climate negotiators, with a specific focus on university students from the Global South, least-developed countries, and small islands. At the end of the mock negotiation, the students will deliver and ambitious and solution-focused agreement covering several aspects of the three following themes: oceans, energy transition and loss and damages. The document written by the students will be developed into a "Call to Action from Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi to future generations” presented at the COP28.
The Youth COP project will be launched through a webinar on 8 May 2023,at 3:00 pm UAE time.
