Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi students participated in a Calligraphy Workshop that was organised by Abu Dhabi’s Cultural Foundation.
The workshop was delivered by the Emirati calligrapher and artist Mohammed Mandi, where he explained and presented different Arabic calligraphic styles. He also presented different script styles of Arabic calligraphy and explained the tools used for Arabic calligraphy which include of a wooden pointed-pen calligraphy rested on ivory inkwells that contains silk threads to preserve and maintain an equal distribution of the ink. By the end of the workshop, students were able to use calligraphy in writing their names in each of Diwani and Al Naskh script
