Professor Dr Basma Makhlouf Shabou serves as the head of the Master's program in Information Sciences at the Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG HES-SO). She is the founder of ArchiLab, the inaugural archival laboratory in the French-speaking region of Switzerland, which is equipped with the requisite infrastructure for data storage and processing, thereby facilitating research projects and service provision. Dr. Shabou earned her PhD from the University of Montreal in 2010. Her research interests encompass archival appraisal, data quality assessment, information governance, maturity models, information risk evaluation, research data management, and long-term preservation strategies. Additionally, she leads OLOS, a Swiss-based research data management portal, and actively participates in various international projects and expert groups, including the International Council on Archives (ICA), the AIAF-PIAF, and InterPARES Trust AI. Throughout her career, Dr. Shabou has received numerous nominations for national and international awards and distinctions, underscoring her contributions to the field.
