Bio

Olivier Courson combines academic research, policy expertise, and executive leadership in artificial intelligence and digital governance. He is a researcher in political philosophy, philosophy of law, ethics, and the philosophy of technology at Sorbonne University, where his Master’s thesis on ethical decision-making and AI in democracies received highest honours (supervisors: Jean-Cassien Billier, Claude Romano). An independent expert in digital policy and AI governance, he served as Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister for digital regulation, culture, and media (2017–2019). He is a senior member (conseiller maître), Cour des comptes — constitutional public accounts & policy evaluation body (Art. 47-2), specialising in public policy evaluation, including a report to the National Assembly on anti-counterfeiting policy focused on digital platforms (2020). Previously, he was Chairman and CEO of Studiocanal (2006–2015) and General Counsel and Board Member at Canal+ Group (2003–2007). He graduated from ENA and Sciences Po Paris.
