This event is available in English, via simultaneous translation from French. At the crossroads of disciplines, this scientific conference will look at the various stages in the restoration of the cathedral, from the first measures taken at the time of the fire to the archaeological research carried out subsequently during the works. The use of innovative digital tools and the management of the scientific data collected will illustrate their essential role in enhancing the value of our heritage. The event will also provide an opportunity to learn from the experience of restoration projects and methodologies implemented in the face of heritage disasters. Examples of restoration work and research on historical and archaeological sites in the Arabian Peninsula will be presented, enabling a cross-disciplinary discussion on the different approaches to heritage conservation. Those involved in restoration and scientific work will share their expertise in a series of lectures. We'll be joined by representatives from the public institution responsible for the conservation and restoration of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, chief curators from the French Ministry of Culture, archaeologists, and researchers.
