Description

This talk will present the Ibrahimi Collection, founded in 2003 by Dr. Hasanain Al-Ibrahimy, a medical doctor and entrepreneur committed to preserving modern and contemporary Iraqi art. Spanning from the 1920s to today, the collection—based in Amman and Baghdad—features paintings, sculptures, and drawings by Iraqi and select Arab artists.

Accompanied by an extensive archive of catalogues, journals, and art books, the collection supports deeper engagement with the works. Notably, the catalogue Sights on Iraqi Modern and Contemporary Art from the Ibrahimi Collection, published in March 2024, reflects this scholarly focus.

Rooted in a vision of cultural preservation and transmission, the Ibrahimi Collection has become both an academic resource and a cultural bridge between Iraq and the wider world.
